A fuel filter on a cummins they won't unless you are in really good with the service writer and warranty claim guy at the dealership. I have also seen warranty claims denied for injectors on trucks with aftermarket oil filters and telling the owner to take it up with wix.Originally posted by racrguy View PostI bet they will honor my warranty if I put a fleetguard filter in one."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

laws are broken all the timeOriginally posted by racrguy View PostThen by law they cannot void your warranty because of using an aftermarket filter as long as it meets or exceeds specified filter requirements.

Some shady shit going on here, especially since Fleetguard is a Cummins brand.Originally posted by dee View PostA fuel filter on a cummins they won't unless you are in really good with the service writer and warranty claim guy at the dealership. Only one I could find here in town. Oreilly and others thought I was speaking greek. Honestly I think they kept looking up the gas engine because they kept saying it wasnt even in their system. Ill order a few from rock autofor the next change.Originally posted by Cooter View Postabout using a cheap filter? yes
Warranty not an issue here. Already expired and smarty ME ordered last night. Now to worry about the stock clutch holding! Lol!

I agree. I was surprised that as per Chrysler pics of the filters are to be sent with any engine related warranty claims. All this did was give me another reason to dislike Chrysler/Dodge products.Originally posted by racrguy View PostSome shady shit going on here, especially since Fleetguard is a Cummins brand."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

I bought the Smarty and will probably sit on it for a while till I get to know the truck a little. Mostly just wanted to make sure I could get one while they were available. The clutch already feels like it's a little weak. Might be why the guy originally sold the truck. I am looking over the SouthBend stuff but don't really know if I will need the twin disc as I don't plan to get crazy with it. I looked it over last night while I was doing the filter and it's a big f'n trans! Might just have someone install it for me since I can't put this truck on my 2 post lift but not something I couldn't tackle on the ground if I had to.Originally posted by Cooter View Postdon't worry, it won't!
We decided not to get a big trailer and found an all aluminum 28' that I am going to pick up in GA this weekend. Might weigh 8k# loaded which will be nice. This will be a quick 2000 mile test drive to see if the truck is solid or not. Hope I make it back!

get a South Bend or Valair organic/street dual disk... they are quiet and engage like factory. If you go with a single disk capable of holding any amount of torque, it's going to be grabby and will SUCK backing a trailer
the 6.7 is a torque monster. street dual disk is the ONLY way to go
