Stock hood, otherwise I would agree.

I hate the look of cowl hoods.

it is possible to keep it under the stock hood.

sbf FTL compared to lsx, you can run a chi headed 363 sbf and prob get 600hp without going too crazy.

To me, the lsx and sbf have a lot in common, the only advantage I see from an lsx is the taller deck height allowing larger displacement and of course the factory parts are cheaper and on par with aftermsrket sbf ford parts.

To me, they're pretty much the same, just the ford costs twice if not triple to build to get the same results.

Btw I'm looking for 700hp on an engine dyno, not to the wheels.

NASCAR makes around 850 with 359ci and turn 9k rpm? I know those are speciality motors compared to your average joe small block, but it's a point of reference.

                    Also SAM built a 433ci lsx at 9800rpm it made 1001hp n/a

Also, would a carb be best suited for this application ? Or fuel injected with a accufab 4150 throttle body? What about a holley efi set up?

Jesel belt drive with a crank trigger and cog belt distributor.

I put a 429 SCJ under the hood of a fox with the correct K member and motor mounts.

                              Mike,

I built a 432" small block that twisted 8800rpm. It made what you are looking for in power. Had I wanted to, it would have been streetable. The cost 15 years ago was just over $14k. That doesn't include any drivetrain mods you will need. That 8.8 isn't going to hold up long, the T5 won't last either. Supporting mods will cost nearly as much as the motor, if not more. Don't forget about the 350gph+ pump and .5" fuel lines you will need. The EFI system if you choose that route will be $3500 or more or you can choose a 1050 Dominator like I did. My orig plan was a Ron's Flying Toilet and alcohol but the fuel system was going to be more than a grand and a PITA.
