Mavs FA Signings, etc.

Things are pickup up a bit over the last few days. Signed Kaman who is a true center with post offense. Just 3 years ago was almost a 20/10 guy. Has been fighting some injury issues, but supposedly is healthy now. Definitely an upgrade over an amnestied Haywood. Mahinmi for Collison/Jones is a no-brainer! Here's a guy that was an UFA that the Pacers could have just outright signed, but instead, we get 2 solid rotation players for him! All day every day! Add Brand to the mix and this might start to get interesting! We should know tonight whether we won the Brand bid! GO MAVS!

I seriously doubt Dirk will ever leave the Mavs. He isn't the type of guy to go to Cuban and ask for a trade so he isn't going anywhere. That being said, they will try to put some pieces around him that show some semblance of a team and attempt to get someone else in here that can score with him in the next year or two before he can't get his 20+ a game anymore. Two to three more 20+ a game years left in him IMO.

I really hope they don't get Brand, he is nothing like he used to be. Too old as well, Mavs need to focus on more youth

I dont want Brand either but he's serviceable, as is Kaman.

Getting Brand is a plus imo, he can back up Dirk and can swing him at Center at limited times..same with Wright

Mavs need a true shooting guard, not a damn combo guard

Be curious to see if they do amnesty Haywood or hold on to him....use him and Kaman rotating. Then decide next year whether to keep Kaman and amnesty Haywood to clear out space for one of the "maybe" free agents.

Collison & Dahntay Jones for Ian Mahinmi in a s&t deal
Kaman signed to 1 year deal
