Rangers just signed Carlos Pena to a minor league deal. He was an absolute beast in Tampa, hopefully he can do something still.

Had a great first year there, and I guess the 40 HR in his all-star season were nice, but really a lot more fanfare than production. Couldn't ever hit for average, struck out a ton (even if he did walk a good bit), and lost his pop (his only tool) with age.

Expectations are non existent, although it doesn't really cost or hurt anything to try. It does continue the trend of making Round Rock old as shit, though.

Chi Chi Gonzales also had a no hitter into the 5th in his Frisco debut. He's every bit as noteworthy as Gallo.

Yu Darvish with a complete game shutout last night. Seems he's the only pitcher who can win right now. And he's finally gotten some offense support this year.

Joey Gallo hit a walk off last night in his Frisco debut. That's 22 homeruns this season so far and he's 20 years old. We haven't had a bat like this in the farm system since Nelson Cruz and he was 28 and on PEDs.

Going to the game tomorrow with my Fiance and the kids. All of her family is in town because her cousin pitches for the Marlins. Hopefully we beat them LOL!!!!

Well scratch that, Brad Snyder is your new 1st baseman. He does have 18 homeruns in the minors this season and all at Round Rock so it's pro level. He's an outfielder though who played the last two games at first.

Luke Jackson and Feliz could come up right now. Adam Rosales and Brad Snyder are both rotting in Round Rock. We'll get Holland and Soto back around the all star break, Kouzmanoff some time after that.

Realistically though we've had a tough schedule. The Nationals, Orioles and Indians all are good teams. We get two games against the Marlins next, then we play Seattle, Oakland and the Angels on the road. Oakland and the Angels are playing each other now but then Oakland finishes out the month playing the Tigers then Toronto and then the Giants for 4 games. The Angels face the Braves, Indians, us and the Twins.

If we manage to stay at .500 ball until the all star break we still have a good shot.
