They just promoted Jorge Alfaro and Nomar Mazara to AA Frisco. Alfaro is a very highly regarded prospect and hopefully our catcher for the next 10 years.

Well at least another GM is catching more flack today than JD. The Phillies worked hard to move Byrd, Papelbon and Lee yesterday and had plenty of calls for Hamels.

They didn't do anything and now it looks like Lee is done for the season, potentially career. At least he's going to make $58 million while sitting on the bench.

The A's are all in and the Tigers just got a lot better. The Tigers now have the last 3 Cy Young winners in their rotation. Verlander in 2011, Price in 2012 and Sherzer last year. To go with a 12-5 Rick Porcello.

Just took 2 out of 3 from the Yankees while Oakland dropped the same. Rios got drilled though so it might scare some trade deals away.

Today is the trade deadline. JD is trying to get Cliff Lee back and we have the prospects to make something happen. He won't help this season but assuming Fielder, Moreland, Profar and Perez can contribute next year we'll be competitive. Not to mention Gallo, Alfarao, Luke Jackson and Chi Chi.

Yeah its either trade now to make some kinds of push or wait for next year.
