IMO, this is a stupid rule change. not entirely sure what even brought it on.

more than anything, i'm confused about why the hell this effects practice sessions. the point of practice is to setup the car and driver feedback is pretty important. now they have to go pit more to talk about the car without fear of penalty.

i'm okay with the lack of communication during the race. looks like whoever programs the best systems to alert the drivers on their lcd screen might be the best off but just wait until fiddling with reading text messages at 310 kph results in someone stuffing it into a barrier.

If you haven't read the updates list of banned radio communications...you will be surprised. And Holy shit get ready for a bunch of fuel disqualifications, Mercedes brake failures, ERS failures, and runaway races.

I can't wait to see what these bans actually accomplish.

Really surprised they banned the brake comments.

yea that's odd. they are going to have to define that better or everyone will be in violation.

i know they want to stop the "you are losing 2 tenths into __ corner to your teammate" but does this radio silence include alerting drivers about fuel usage or engine modes? what about lap times & tyre strategy.

I would be all over that Singapore/japan trip.

So no radio communications about car or driver performance....hmmm...are we going to see more fuel disqualifications? Or is it going to be a bunch of gibberish code now?

Smartest thing I ever did was get my gf (now fiance) hooked on F1.
Now all trips will probably revolve around f1 destinations.

On the real though I am jealous of Momo. I'm too poor and/or cheap to make that trip happen.

    You're a grade-A bastard, Momo.

Personally, I'm not too worried about the effects of Montezemolo's departure on the F1 team; Sergio seems pretty serious about making sure the F1 team is competitive. On the other hand, I think Montezemolo has worked wonders with the road car side (even if I haven't been much for a lot of the offerings as of late, which with my level of income is irrelevant), and Marchionne's comments today about where the brand should head from a road-car standpoint scares me.

here are a few pics from the weekend:

monza is a great/proper/historic venue and i'm happy i got the chance to go but it definitely needs some money thrown at it for some renovation (bathrooms, modern video screens)

the race was excellent live, especially while lewis was stalking nico. even after when bottas and ricciardo were moving up spots, it was pretty wild.

oh yea, the cars sound weak. they have a good variety of noises but it lacks the violence it needs. ear plugs not needed at all. GP2 and even GP3 sound better.
