  • Great game. Anyone know how long Cruz is out?

    • It was a bit too warm for Weaver

      • TB/BOS/TB

This has to be the hardest part of a schedule they've played in quite some time. Certainly the most challenging this year.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

        • Isn't TB out of it though? Are they still trying to put up a fight in the east?

          • They're out of it, but they essentially have the same record as the Rangers and have been playing a lot better lately.

Yep...this. Rangers have played 3 more games than Tampa and have won them. Same # in the loss column and they've won 3 in a row.

Rangers finally get a much needed break too. They just finished playing 17 days in a row. Hopefully the day off will recharge their batteries a little.

              • Oh, and with our schedule against Bos and Tb the next week, things should get interesting because Anaheim plays 7 of their next 10 against the lowly Mariners.

Now how big is that 4th game of the Anaheim series where we lost the game in the bottom of the 9th last week instead of finishing off the sweep? Had that not occurred, we'd be 5 up instead of just 3 up.

Tampa Bay is 6.5 out of the wild card behind the yankees - it could happen(especially with NYY's rotation being CC, then a coin toss), but it's not likely. The rays still have 6 games each vs. both boston and NYY.

How about 4 @ LAA, 3 @ Chicago, 4 vs Boston, and 3 vs LAA?

Or the 6-run lead that Holland blew a few months ago, the one that Geor jinxed.

                    • So do the Rangers go for Berkman? Now that Cruz has a reoccurring hamstring issue.

                      • Berkman publicly stated that he didn't come here because he didn't think they had the pitching to be competitive without Lee. Not sure what that would do in the clubhouse, but I don't think he's really that much better than the guys they already have.

Beltre can come back tomorrow if Cruz goes on the DL. That'll fill the hole in the offense at least. Chavez, Gentry and Murphy are good options in the outfield and of course Moreland can also play out there with Young and Napoli at first. Borbon is also ready to come back on Thursday (roster expansion). I'd love to see the guy here but who would the Cardinals want in return? They are also trying to win.

That's the stretch I'm referring to. They have already played those series though.

The Cards are out of it, whether they want to believe it or not. They're 10.5 back and the Brewers don't look like they're slowing down any time soon.

Considering it's past the trade deadline, I'm sure he was referring to next year.
