I'm not that big of a fan of Mama's Daughter's. Some of the stuff is good, but the okra is typical frozen shit, the CFS isn't that great, and the sides could use a little more attention and flavor.

Make sure when you go to Mary's that you don't go when they're having a seafood special. I went for a CFS on shrimp night, and the shrimp taste got into everything, because it was all fried together. That may sound like it might taste good, but believe me, it did not.

The Metro(s), the Pitt Grills, and the Beckley Grill are all owned, or at least for a long time were owned, by the same folks. They were forced to sell the Metro to Baylor, and renamed the Pitt Grill on Davis as the Metro Diner. It had been my second favorite in the group. The Beckley Grill would've been my favorite, but it always closed ass early, and fuck that. Good diners are meant to be open 24/7.

Went to the metro diner on Davis late last night and some of the older ladies that worked at the gaston location work there!! Place is great as always!

i know some people didn't like it but the gaston metro has yet to be replaced IMO. where else can you go(no chain restaurants) anytime of the night and get whatever is on the menu? nowhere

buzzbrews on 75 is cool but too expensive and the crowds there are very annoying. they do make a bomb egg sandwich though
