I ate at Metro on Davis/Hampton about 3 weeks ago and it was just like the one on Gaston. I ate at Market Diner on Harry Hines for breakfast/lunch on Friday and it was packed to the walls. Both are favorites of mine. Normas has good breakfast but haven't tried anything else they sell.

I will second Norma's. I went there a few times over the last couple of years and it was pretty good.Originally posted by Lone Sailor View PostMetro Diner and also Norma's both used to be good. Haven't been in a long time. Both are in Dallas off of Davis west of the Bishop Arts District.Whos your Daddy?

Dude, have you been to the Gold Rush Cafe on Skillman, yet? Go in any day but Sunday, and the owner George will be behind the counter. Ask for migas, "how Yale likes them." I guarantee he'll remember.Originally posted by bcoop View PostIt's better than most, but nothing that's going to knock your socks off or anything.ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

It's a local chain, but one that I have been loving the last few months. The ONLY place (besides some truck stops) that remind me of PA diners. Just has TX menu items, but they do them pretty well.Originally posted by gonzoss View PostAre there any real diners in DFW area like those? I've been to some diners in PA and New York. Those were pretty awesome. I remember hearing about some diner in Oak Cliff off Jefferson st. but I think its gone.
The quaker steak and lube place reminded me of Donna's diner in Sharon when I was up there passing through.

 There are others....

....that's the one I specifically go to since I'm doing a job down there. It's old, has old school waitresses, old people in it and so on. I leave there stuffed at lunch and over-tip a tad for under 10 dollars usually.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

Did you do the 1 pounder? I was in there a couple weeks ago, for the first time in years (I used to work there), and saw that was new. Yes, the menu is small. They know what they do well, and they stick to it. Po Mel's has been an institution in Irving for a long damn time, and the menu is always the same. The only change I know of them making is the option for the one pound CFS, and they had mac & cheese as a side for a while, but scrapped it because it didn't do well.

Nope. I keep forgetting.Originally posted by Yale View PostDude, have you been to the Gold Rush Cafe on Skillman, yet? Go in any day but Sunday, and the owner George will be behind the counter.
