Diners?

It's a local chain, but one that I have been loving the last few months. The ONLY place (besides some truck stops) that remind me of PA diners. Just has TX menu items, but they do them pretty well.

....that's the one I specifically go to since I'm doing a job down there. It's old, has old school waitresses, old people in it and so on. I leave there stuffed at lunch and over-tip a tad for under 10 dollars usually.

Yeah I ate there a lot years ago and just got burned out. You can not beat their breakfast pricing for what you get. What ever you do though stay away from the freindly motel behind it.

Did you do the 1 pounder? I was in there a couple weeks ago, for the first time in years (I used to work there), and saw that was new. Yes, the menu is small. They know what they do well, and they stick to it. Po Mel's has been an institution in Irving for a long damn time, and the menu is always the same. The only change I know of them making is the option for the one pound CFS, and they had mac & cheese as a side for a while, but scrapped it because it didn't do well.

It was actually back in late August, if I remember correctly. They didn't have an option on the menu for a 1 lb cfs at that time, or I would have definitely gotten it. They still had mac and cheese as well. I don't eat that shit, but my coworker did, and he liked it.

I'll probably go back soon and get that 1 pounder. I love me some chicken fried steak.

Fuck that nonsense. I LOVE chicken fried steak. But I can't stand manufactured shit. I'd prefer to just make it myself at home. I make it, and the gravy from scratch. Nothing can even compare.

Go to Sandy's in NRH. They have some really good CFS!
