I need to quit coming in here and reading these threads. Im already on the fence in realizing that our life is meaningless and it doesn't matter because in the end we die, we're forgotten. Creating experiences/memories serve no purpose at all. I've never been a very religious person nor have a strong faith but I don't like thinking the way I am. Surely, there has to be a purpose for our existence.....I just can't believe that were just a random mistake that serves no purpose.

Proven real in what way? That the events historically occurred? That magic, witches, unicorns and dragons exist?

If all of those things were proven to be true, I would accept that. I'd believe in your God, Jesus, witches, unicorns and dragons. However, the subjective portions of the bible I would still disagree with.

Regardless of what opinion the authors of the bible has, or what your god has asserted, I could never see it as a moral entity considering its behavior as described in the bible.

So, would I live my life by the rules of the bible? No.

For those of you who do not believe in God (or however you would phrase it):

If the Bible were to be proven real, and God/Jesus were to be proven real, with facts/science what then? At that point would you choose to follow what the Bible says, or would you choose to live your life the way you are now?

I'm not talking about a "christian scientist" finding proof, I know that wouldn't float with you. I'm talking about Neal deGrasse Tyson or some other scientist that you respect finding proof. Irrefutable proof to your standards, whatever that may be.

I realize you would say this will never happen, nor am I suggesting that I think it will, but give it a few minutes of though and tell me what you would do. Would you then ... "believe" in God. Would you change the way you live?

I don't know any of you personally, but I honestly get the impression you would not change the way you live. Just because God in this hypothetical case, was proven true/real, it doesn't mean that you would have to believe any of it or obey what the Bible says. You could absolutely go on about your life the same way you have.

So far, all I see is a couple of Bible bashers saying that this reverse calculation of exploded parts of the universe can trace the blast back to an approximate time of explosion/implosion waaaaaay in the past to come up with the universe's birthday.

Actually, what you see is that I've pointed out that the scientific community is saying that and all the evidence supports them.

In order to bring this all back to an exact moment, you're going to need the point of the explosion/ implosion. Can you point that one out.

No need. No one has claimed to know or be able to demonstrate the exact moment and the big bang model stands just fine without the claim. So, this "variable" is a non-issue.

You're also going to need to know for sure that this mass that exploded/imploded was the first and only thing in existence. Can you assure that?

This is also not required. As, based on the current model, the sigularity would have consisted of everything as we understand it.
