96+ are PATS cars.

I should have clarified, the E-PATS system in the 2003 Cobra would not be compatible with the 98. The cluster from a 2000+ (IIRC) would need to be used (with a correct transponder key) or at least the PATS be bypassed. The bypass procedure is not one that I know a lot about.
