It is turning out pretty solid! It is developing as I'm building. I've decided to add some machined aluminum bits to it. Hoping I can get a steering column, shifter, and some pullies here in time to finish it up by 6/1!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do for an air cleaner. Part of me wants to go with an aluminum edelbrock type cleaner, another part of me is thinking a shotgun style blower intake with dual cone filters. Decisions, decisions!

I think these wheels are what I'm going to go with. Now, to decide on wheel color. I'm thinking the storm gray metallic to match the top...thoughts?

A little more work on the Chevelle and Wrangler cars.

I'm going for a show car type build on the 68 Chevelle, so I painted several chassis components polished aluminum for some pop and contrast. I'm on the fence with the wheels. If I can get them to tuck, I think they will be killer.

Wheels and tires are done for the Wrangler Aerocoupe. Powerslide decals for all of the markings. I added "wheel weights" with a silver sharpie.

So, I decided to make a change to my polishing process. I used to wet sand with 2000 grit, and commence buffing. I was spending a TON of time polishing using ScratchX 2.0. I ordered some M105 and M205 yesterday and picked up some 2500 and 3000 grit paper. I am more than please with the results! They would be even better if my airbrush wasn't acting up when I cleared the Chevelle. I ordered a cleaning kit for the airbrush when I ordered the Meguiar's products. Hopefully to eliminate that issue.

Here is the 68 Chevelle. Wet sanded with 2000, 2500, and 3000 grit paper. Polished with M105, M205, and waxed with Colinite 915. I have some finer paper, I may give that a go next time.

A little work on the 68 Chevelle. I started polishing the body and tidying up some interior details. I went with Gray flocking for the carpet to try and bring the gray from the body inside. Now I need to start making some decisions on the undercarriage for colors.

A little work today, before I effed up my airbrush!

    68 Chevelle progress

Re-working the wrangler car due to paint issues...
I changed paints, still Krylon for the blue, just a different type. I changed the yellow to Rustoleum farm and implement paint. This is what I used when I built this car 10+ years ago. The chassis is finally good. Krylon trublue then cleared with 2 part urethane clear.

I dig it man. I started working on a replica of my van about a week ago. I need to get back on it. I've had a hard time getting motivated to do anything here lately.

I haven't updated in a while. Work is slowing down, so I'm trying to get motivated to build some stuff!

First off, I won a rosette at the Hunt County Fair, reserve champion in adult crafts for my 1/12 GT500.

Next, I have a couple of buiod offs going in some Facebook groups that I have been slacking on. Both need to be finished before the Plastic Society of DF/W's show first weekend in June. I'm using this 68 Chevelle to get motivated. The gray is Storm Gray metallic and the red is a special edition color I've had for 10 or 12 years called Devil's Venom from the now closed Cobra Colors.

If you know anyone selling kits, let me know

With enough reference photos, time, and someone who wants to buy it, it can be done.

My primary goal is checking the dimensions of the front fascia to see if it will match my coupe body so that I can cast copies.
