The first didn't follow the book that closely, but there were somethings that couldn't have been done well in 1993.

It's been on again/off again for years.

The last I heard, they had given up on it after Crichton died.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Colin Trevorrow has received the blessing of the "Jurassic Park" producers to direct the fourth installment of the saga.

Trevorrow, 36, will follow in Steven Spielberg and Joe Johnston's footsteps and direct the next "Jurassic Park." He was discovered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 with his first movie "Safety Not Guaranteed." This clever comedy won him the award for Best First Screenplay.

The "Jurassic Park 4" plot is still a mystery. Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two films, will supervise the production of the Universal Pictures movie. The release date is set for June 13, 2014.

Filming on the fourth installment of the saga will start by the end of 2013, twenty years after the release of the first movie.

Jurassic Park was excellent. It's so much better any of the new cgi 3d bullshit, especially Avatard.

Jurassic Park 2 is to that series what Highlander 2 was to its series.

The 2nd and 3rd are a mix of the second book. They're entertaining but don't hold up to the first one.

First one is epic, second one was...meh. I've only seen the last half of the third and caught the first 10 minutes last week and have come to the conclusion that is cinema diarrhea.
