You should try the Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz, The Hidden War by Artyom Borovik, or The Iron Wall by Avi Shlaim. Some of my favorite non fictions I've read this year. 1) Escape from Siberian prison 2) Russia/Afghanistan from Russian perspective 3) Concise history of Israeli's foreign and military relations.Originally posted by tex View Post
I'm wanting to get back to some non-fiction, anything from gun history and technical books, war, history, martial arts lore, engineering/automotive/mechanical or economics. Whatcha got?

True, hoping to read a couple in January before cranking up CFA Lvl 3 studying in February. Nothing but school/CFA for the last 3 years, and now I have to take 4 of the FINRA license tests for work. About to re-read World War Z by Max Brooks. Hiiiiighly recommend reading.
Also about to read Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove. Premise is pretty interesting involving what would happen if General Lee was introduced to a little weapon called the AK47 by some mysterious strangers.Last edited by 32vfromhell; 11-20-2010, 06:26 PM.

Coltrane on Coltrane: The John Coltrane Interviews
It's a collection of transcriptions/magazine articles of all of the published and some unpublished interviews that John Coltrane gave during his career. It's really, really interesting.

Guest repliedJennifer Government is pretty goddamn entertaining. The bit with the Ferrari is so over the top it's hilarious. If you like it, his first book, Syrup, is ten times better.
Also have Born to Run on the shelf but haven't started it.
I've been working on Walden by Thoreau for six months. Just don't have time for recreational reading being back in college. I've got about 30 books on my shelf waiting for more time.
