I have a bug out bag that I keep loaded. It holds my ar, shotgun, 2 pistols, 9 mags for the pistols, and 6, 30rnd mags for the ar. There are a few pockes that I keep 100 rounds of shotgun in. I keep our very important documents in it as well. I have an old ammo crate in the garage that used to hold 2, 105mm rounds. I sectioned it off and it holds 1500 rounds of .223, 500 rounds of 00 buck shotgun, 300 rounds of 9mm and 400 rounds or .45. All this is addition to the mags that are in the bug out bag which are all loaded not including the mags I keep loaded in the ar, both pistols, and the shotgun. I have a rack that goes on the back of the jeep that holds 2, 5gal gas cans that I rotate out and pour into the jeep (and the lawn equipment) every other month. If it ever hit the fan I would stay put as long as possible unless the action was just too close. And only when absolutly necessary would I leave and then I dont have a clue. Probably going to squat from place to place trying to stay out of sight.

That won't work either. I just build Farady cages for shit I'll keep after an EMP.

Sorry I got to this thread a little late, but I have both a bag and vehicle... or so that's the rumor.

So if you're serious about a bugout vehicle, you need to switch to a carb and points style distributor.
It is possible to build a faraday cage and store additional electrical equipment to install on your vehicle pending an EMP event. Of course, that is if there is only one EMP event.

Best to have an old M35 2-1/2 ton truck. Runs pretty much on anything so fuel shouldn't be that hard to find. Diesel fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, heating oil or gas.

Haven't thought too much about this, but this plan has always been in the back of my head.
This got me thinking, how long would our reservoirs last with no supervision? I mean don't people have to regulate water levels, repair the dam etc.? Seems to me they would last a few years/decades then return to their natural state.

I have a few BOV's and quite a few BOB's. What the situation calls for depends on the one I have.

Don't forget the free showers. You get awfully dirty on the train ride, ya know.

As for me, I'll retire to my secret lair inside of a hollowed out volcano.
