aye you are right, I was thinking Mineral Co went further east, but Hinsdale goes further south.

right here at the point of this lightning bolt is an extremely self sufficient cabin that is off the grid. It has everything, and i mean everything. If you are ever up that way on some trails and come across it (it is somewhat hidden but the only thing out there) the guy's name is Steven, you should stop and say hi. Friendliest guy you will ever meet, just a bit weird at times.

An EMP or what not(which is highly possible) would knock out most any amount of transportation services and communication.

I'm more for the "bug in" scenario of stocking up at my home residence.
