There are so many factors that determine what the results are going to be that this is almost not worth discussing.

Myself, I spent a significant number of years in public schools, with most of that in a small town in Oklahoma. High school was public school in Texas. This was all long before "teaching to the test" became required. Still they taught me little about the important things in life. College was like a glass of cold ice water to the face. We wonder why people are idiots in this country and the schools certainly do their part to manufacture mouth breathers who don't have a clue and aren't ready for shit after they leave high school.

The funniest thing when I compare my school years to the present is the fact that in my school years I had no idea that my job even existed. That is how far in the dark I was about the world.
Right. Which is why I'd put Leslie in the seat before 90% of Texas' finest. She might be blonde, but damn, she can get around a textbook of almost all various studies!

Cool story and all but I'm wondering why I haven't yet heard the threesome story that includes the twin sister... I know that it can't be that the story doesn't exist, we all know that is preposterous.

I really do owe a lot to the teachers for sitting down with me long enough to explain algebra at an early age.
And we're all so very proud of you for that!

Like I said before, there are some teachers that do good work, but if there is a possibility (and by my experience a large possibility) that the child will end up with a lazy fuck here and there, I'd rather take full responsibility for the education... at least until I find something/someone that can guarantee that it'll get done right.

See, us cavemen can't grasp the level of enlightenment you've achieved to get through a HS Calc class, so at that point, we would scrape up enough chickens and IOUs to get a private instructor for it.

I can only go by my experience at public schools and that is that most of the teachers were not exactly great. Most were pretty bad. However there were some extremely notable exceptions. One was my AFJROTC instructor who had a positive life changing influence on my life. The other was my American History teacher in high school. I got a C- in her class but my love of American history began in her class room. She was pretty demanding. Hell, her son became an Astronaut.

That said, there is a good chance I'll put my future kid into public schools (at least initially). However I'll be monitoring it closely.

All of the kids that I knew growing up that were home schooled were socially fucked up.

The only differenece is that the parent can insure the children get the proper education and a superior level of attention to help them accomplish their goals.
It's not that it's so much "social time" as it is social development. It's subconsciously learning the subtleties of social interaction/communication.

In my life the homeschooled kids were always "off." Again, maybe homeschooling is like hair-plugs, bondo, fake-tits, you only notice it when it's done poorly.

    To each their own.

I've spent many nights myself putting up/taking down bulletin boards, grading papers, etc so that my wife could come home at a decent hour. There was always 20 other teachers at almost dark doing the same things. I can name many caring and great teachers from when I went to school. What happened to you to make you so jaded? Nobody said there weren't some bad teachers out there, but more often then not they do a good job.

I speak from experience on both side of the subject. Do you? Or is this just some thing you were taught by an awesome public school teacher? Having both parents IS relevent, which proves you really don't know what the hell you're talking about (again). I wouldn't suggest having any type of home school program without a parent dedicated to it. If you went all the way through public schools without unnecessary distractions, maybe it's you with the handicap. I like how you're ready to make everyone's decision for their kid with that last statement. Why would we make any decisions about our children without your blessing?

Edited: I'm not gonna keep dropping to your level when you obviously wont grasp the concept of education.
