I never limited committing a crime to weed use. How about the home invasion I saw off of Mansfield Hwy where a guy was shot and killed because he was selling weed and infringing on someone else's turf? Drug related crimes encompass a broad spectrum of problems.

But don't you think, just a little, that your personal experience is a little skewed being you are dealing with the underbelly of society on a daily basis?

Nothing you, nor anyone else can say will change my mind. I don't see a valid use for it. Even in the medical sense, the drug isn't curing people, its making them high and forget about the pain/problem.

I prefer alcohol, but I just think the fact that marijuana is illegal is absurd.

Like I said, people don't NEED weed. One can function fine without it. They WANT it.

Due to the percentage of the population that commit crimes over weed, go to the next drug because weed no longer does the job, and a lot of other factors just mean that I cannot support legalization of weed.

Yes, people will commit crimes to get MJ, because if it were made legal tomorrow, how long does it take to grow an adult plant for production? I know it might take several years to make a mature plant. Also, if you steal MJ, how the hell are you going to prove it isn't yours? You can't serialize MJ. Since it would be hard to prove that you didn't get it illegally, how are you going to prove that the guy stole it from you?

Juvenile burglars do break into homes for alchohol, because it is hard to buy it when you are 16. Like juveniles break $600 car windows to get a $5 pack of cigarettes because the local mom&pop store won't sell it to them.

It's not "someone I've seen", after 20 years I've seen a lot more than just one or two. I've seen people high molest kids and kill people over dope.

I don't have a perfect answer, just like you don't. But you will never convince me that making drugs legal will solve our problems. I don't want a high bus driver taking my kids to school, I don't want a high welder putting together a 30 story building, I don't want a high surgeon taking my appendix.
