I have 85k miles on mine and the BOSS 302 Intake, Steeda CAI and tOOn since 60K miles, it runs very well. I would like that Shelby, an aluminator mill with a Sniper intake, oh yes...

Bauer catfish with 6.0 to 7.0L LS heart and t56 trans. They don't make tires sticky enough for that.... should run on par and be a poor mans F1 car.

No offense intended, but Fiberglass < Aluminum. There are a lot of ways to get an aluminum bodied replica, any of them are fine. I have to say I like Henry's idea of a coyote in one. You're right about that. That FF 819 or whatever you can score for a little over $10k.
I would like to build athat aluminum Shelby that Danny posted with a coyote

I like those factory 5 cars, and always wanted to build a AC Cobra, but as I get older.........

If I want a precision tuned street car I start with a well proven base then go from there. Now, big nasty trucks, that is different. Still, every time I drive the TJ, I think of how well the A/C works, and the thing drives, and how I am not under it all the time.

    Easy, Lancia Stratos replica.

The STR is a modern Lancia Stratos replica produced by LB Specialist Cars based on the world championship winning 1970's rally car.

I think I would go with a Pantera with modern drivetrain like a turbo or supercharged coyote 5.0.

I think the biggest reason people buy them is to specifically build them...its not really a cost tradeoff. That and people probably think they will build it better than whoever they would buy it off of.

The few times I've considered it...i knew it would be cheaper to buy an actual professional built car but just wanted the challenge. Then I remembered I don't even like spending an hour installing cabinet and drawer pulls. If im going to piss away a few thousand hours it's going to be trying to invent the next slap chop or snuggy. Maybe in retirement

Wow! How times have changed... The hyper/ultra cars now make me cringe thinking about what it would be like to drive on the roads. Now I just want one of these with a new 5.0 and some kind of stack injection setup.

Classically designed reproduction custom sports car engineered with modern technology, all leather interior, meticulously hand-built…one beautiful car at a time
