    All great advice-thanks!

You can drive to Destin, FL and have more cash for the resort/hotel with the savings of airfare and car rental. We stayed at a really nice condo that was on the beach. I don't recall the name since we were staying with a friend that borrowed it from some business partner of his but the point is that you can drive there, find a cheaper hotel near the beach and that area is kid friendly...all the partiers usually go to Miami or the like. Not to mention the beaches are awesome there.

Plus for Clearwater is the chance to see Winter from the Dolphin Tale movie.

Plus for Myrtle Beach is the chance to shop at the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove (yes, it does actually exist and it's family-friendy).

Another vote for the Clearwater/Tampa area. I went there for spring break 3 or 4 years ago and it is a really nice area with good beaches, I'm sure there are some kind of resorts around there with what you are looking for and Universal, Disney World, NASA etc are all close enough to drive to. We rented a condo on Tierra Verde Just south of St. Pete when we went.

I went to Ft. Lauderdale last summer and this past November. I have family there though so my opinion may be biased.

I've not been to a resort in the US that's anything like what you get AI in Mexico or otherwise in the caribbean unfortunately.

When we go to Destin, we rent a condo that is on the beach (ie. just walk down the stairs and you're on the sand) and we tend to cook at the condo a lot. I'll take a fishing trip early in the week so we'll have fresh fish most of the time (last time was red snapper).

You could look into a cruise out of Miami?
