Yeah, it's still a lot of car with tons of potential for the money. I still think they look badass even for being 10 years old.Originally posted by A_A_G View PostI'm not surprised the value of a car that had a short production run is increasing. It's still a very attractive car that can still hold its own vs new(er) cars in a straight line.
Plus I don't think a 11-12 GT can make 550 rwhp with bolt-ons and swaping a pulley under the hood. I love the new GT btw and plan to buy one in a couple of years.
Same thing is happening with the 99-04 Lightning

It's hard to find one under 20K in decent condition now. 5 years ago they were in the 11-15k price range, but recently it has skyrocketed for no reason...
I think once used 5.0s start flooding the market it will be the end of the 03/04 cobra obsession that causes them to cost a ridiculous amountOriginally posted by BuzzoSome dudes jump out of airplanes, I fuck hookers without condoms.

In 2007 I wasn't seeing any 03/04 cobras for 11k.Originally posted by crapstang View PostIt's hard to find one under 20K in decent condition now. 5 years ago they were in the 11-15k price range, but recently it has skyrocketed for no reason...

No shit, they have never been under 20k. As a matter of fact right before I bought my 2005 GT, I was looking very hard and they were 25k and up, I saw one with a ton of bolt-ons for 35k. Hell even four years later when I bought my 2009 GT I looked and they were still over 25k-30k. Mannheim auctions are still bringing 16k-18k.Originally posted by Skidmark View PostIn 2007 I wasn't seeing any 03/04 cobras for 11k.Last edited by Rick Modena; 04-03-2012, 10:37 AM.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

I saw at least 2-3 go for that. One was a rebuilt, one was a 10th anniversary. A lot of others went for 15-13k. In fact, a year or two ago a dealership below Love Field airport got a trade in 04 cobra w/ 55k on it and sold it for 8,500.Originally posted by Skidmark View PostIn 2007 I wasn't seeing any 03/04 cobras for 11k.

$8500 for a 55k mile 04 Cobra? Bullshit.Originally posted by crapstang View PostI saw at least 2-3 go for that. One was a rebuilt, one was a 10th anniversary. A lot of others went for 15-13k. I thought I told you to GTFO?Originally posted by crapstang View PostI thought it was too. He appraised it as an 04 GT (I guess?). It sold in less than 1 hour.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

If you don't think my car is worth 23k, you are lying to yourself.
The amount of personal satisfaction it brings me, every time I turn the key on, would offset any monetary discrepancies of the price of the vehicle.
Has anyone on this board, who has owned a 03-04 Cobra, not been satisfied with their purchase?

You can bicker all you want. If even one person is willing to pay $25k, then the car is "worth" it.
They are good cars and "can" bring top dollar. One of the most valid points is that very nice, low mileage cars bring money, but it seems most people think their "junk" is that nice. It seldom is.
My 2 cents, and it doesn't buy anybody anything, but its correct.sigpic18 F150 Supercrew - daily
