I don't have a problem tipping at a restaurant, if I have a $15 bill I usually throw in a $5. All this is based on the service though. I am not a needy customer or one of those customers that runs the waiter/waitress like a personal slave for every little thing.
But what if you had a party of 5+, as in the case in question, and the service/food was shitty. do you think you should still be required to pay the 17% gratuity if everything was below standards.

<===White and I do what I want with MY money thank you.
Edit:Realize that the differece of 5% is pennies right? So that means based off of the arguments I see, these pennies mean the difference between me being and "average joe" and a "broke dick". We are not eating at Three Forks here...

I'm sensing potential confusion surrounding intended meaning of "class".

You say it is a class issue or at least agree it is a class issue, there are other issues related to class, or lack of, besides tipping...
I see the other races, but what is your argument for White people? Seeing as you seem to know the reason for the others...

Originally posted by bcoop View PostYep. 90% of the time it's a class issue. More people than you think stiff waiters at very high end restaurants. With Europeans, it's because tipping isn't customary there. With midle Easterners, it's being tight asses. With black people, it's being broke, and lacking class in most cases

I tip based of service and amount of food (value) that I am ordering. Not "oh, well the service was okay at best but they don’t make that much, here let me give you some sympathy money"...
Shitty service = NO tip
Good Service = 10%
Great Service=usually $10 - $20

Maybe next time I am at a restraunt with friends, we can all get up at the same time and go to the RR and see if any of the staff tries to tackle us...

When do you pay your tab and TIP? At your table when you hand over your card or cash. If it wasn't paid then and they removed their ass from the chair I think it is pretty safe to say they WEREN'T going to pay.......
If you are in a parts store and someone is on the other side of the store, grabs something and runs to the front door, but you get in front to block them, is it safe to say they were going to steal whatever it was or were they practicing their 50 yard sprint?
