    I am stating that a waiters wages should not be in a discussion regarding tips. Why should I (the consumer) have to make up for the establishments (employer) lack of compensation? It seems that whenever tips are brought up so are the wages and in my eyes their wages are none of my concern.

    I tip based of service and amount of food (value) that I am ordering. Not "oh, well the service was okay at best but they don’t make that much, here let me give you some sympathy money"...

    Shitty service = NO tip
    Good Service = 10%
    Great Service=usually $10 - $20

    I always pay tips so the only thing that bothers me about mandatory gratuity is that I sometime end up tipping twice. I rarely notice that a tip has already been charged..
