Are you seriously that dense? To you, a shooting in public somehow equates to a home invasion? You're not making the fuzz look very good here. At the time, it appears that the officer had no knowledge of the individuals prior (or lack of) crimes.

If an able bodied citizen shoots an unarmed person who "chased them", they are going to jail.

We weren't talking about reactions within individuals, we were talking about LSD potency then as opposed to now. The fact is that it was much stronger in the 60s than it is now. We'll just agree to disagree then on the subject. Drugs react differently between everyone who uses them. People all have different chemistry and different reactions with drugs. Just because you read some books or studies doesn't mean you can predict everyones reaction to a drug. There have been many cases of people on drugs who feel no pain and have superhuman strength and will do things like break cuffs, or eat people. I think he did the right thing given the volatility of the situation and I pretty much share the same opinion on police as yourself.

Actually I would know as I've researched the subject. Read The Harvard Psychadelic Club or The Electric Kool Aide Acid Test.
