Lol at moving to to a new country when you have everything you could want at home as being the easy way out.

    Unfortunately our society today is.

I know what you're saying and I'm telling you I think you're opinion is stupid. Look at it this way...he's doing way more than any of us. Take the money makers out of this country and things will change. Your blind allegiance to America is flawed. You've gotta be decently older.

I disagree. They weren't about the "easy" way out. DOHCTR, on the other hand, is.

Yes they do. I have a friend over there and the government is just as fucked up as it is here. Hell, up till recently, they couldn't even get M rated video games due to the governments interference. Then there is the lack of guns, the utterly ridiculous way they have the phone and internet structured, the lack of a decent power grid, my friend doesn't even run the A/C in the summer due to it. Their gas prices aren't that much worse than ours, I think he was paying a little over $5 a gallon and they use natural gas a lot.

Not exactly. I don't think we are on the same page.

Some of the contention could also come from how easy it is these days.

Immigrants of that age had a rough time crossing the pond.

Dude, I am all for immigration. To or from the US. People should be able to move and find opportunity for them and their family.

But one more time. He is the one who started this thread saying that he does not like how things are going, therefore he is leaving and not coming back. He is the one saying that the American dream is dead and that he's jumping ship.

THAT IS WHAT I TAKE ISSUE WITH.

He came here volunteering that, trying to justify what he was doing.

I'm not just talking founding fathers. I'm talking all the immigrants that contributed as well.

Your problem is he's leaving because he doesn't agree with things. If he can go elsewhere why shouldn't he? He's doing more than any of us. Those who fought for America would not have chosen that path if there was another option this easy.

Some of the same issues, but at least the Prime Minister told the muslims to get bent over thinking Sharia Law had any place in Australia.

I will be interested to read updates on this venture. It will be cool to hear it from the viewpoint of "one of us".

I would assume similar culture/language and not cold like Europe/Canada.

Then find other ways if you actually want to help, go be an aid for someone you believe in, go do some volunteer work, or hell go to an old folks home and get their opinion on how things should be run. Not going to touch that last sentence until tomorrow.

I absolutely do, which is why I congratulated DOHCTR in the first place.

The flip side of that coin is that the folks who founded America also had to fight tooth and nail for what they got. A lot of people died for this.

I don't think he's gonna have to go to war in Australia unless he does something stupid like trying to beat the shit out of some aboriginals for a plot of land. Maybe he could take some blankets with smallpox to offer the chief.

I see both sides of this discussion and agree with them as well. I just lean more on the side of Chili, at this time.
