It's all an anarchy free for all for the sake of entertainment as far as I'm concerned. I thought that it was clear from day one the only reason this site has moderators was to clean up spam, move threads to the right forum, and keep cursing out of thread titles.

That what I thought, too. It started slowly with "funny" (or not) thread title changes, "funny" (or not) random banning, then deleted posts. Allow it all or none of it. This pick and choose stuff is bullshit and everyone knows it.

But the mods / site owner will never be able to make everyone happy, so it is really hard to try to give any real credence to the bitching of individuals. Because if they change to satisfy you, then someone else will be unhappy. There are just too many different demands and desires that vary wildly among the members.

Taking suggestions and making considerations are one thing, but there are just too many people for everyone to ever be happy.

I'm telling you, I had been involved in some of those conversations in the mod forum early on, and don't think that people aren't taking yoru opinions into consideration. But at the end of the day the only thing they can do is make their own judgement and run things the way they think is best.

Hell, I bet even you and Eric don't agree on how things should be run, 100%. Jesus, you two had one of this boards first big conflicts!

I will say this.. As i am sure everyone knows, I was a mod for a while on here but chose to resign. A small part of that was because I didn't necessarily agree with some of the stuff going on at the time, but really, the primary reason was because of all of the whiney ass members. Every day it was someone whining about something. The few times I "enforced" clear rules it just ended up in a bickering match. At the end of the day, it just was not worth the headache.

The reason I became a mod in the first place was simply so that I could help to ensure the new site was staying consistant with the old site. And it is always easier to make change and influence from the inside.

I find it funny that people are now saying "this sucks, it's just like Canada used to be".. But wasn't that the whole point of making this forum? Because when the Canadians took over everything was "changing". So by comparing this current site to pre-Canadian Canada, you are really saying that the goal was accomplished.

I guess at the end of the day, the thing that has me most confused over these types of issues and threads is, who really cares THAT much? I mean seriously, this isn't a workplace. This isn't a school that your child is forced to attend. Everyone makes the conscious effort to log on and visit, and it is purely by choice. So why get so worked up over stupid shit like a thread that gets locked or a post that gets deleted.

When I see it I just shrug my shoulders and move on.

I liken it to going to the same bar every week and then once there constantly bitching that you don't like the place and how it is managed.

Either deal with it or move on.

I'm pretty bored with all the aliases pretending to be actual people. Why bother? You're just softening the blow for when those jerkoffs actually come back. You know they can't stay away forever. It's like Al said awhile back, this place is the perfect mousetrap.
