Yea, I'm seriously thinking about dropping DirecTV. I love NFL Sunday Ticket but I rarely watch any TV in the off season. When the NFL isn't playing, I'm pissing $108 down the tubes..

Thats the reason I installed a PCI HDTV tuner in my desktop, and also have a USB HDTV tuner for my laptop...both of which can record direct from the air in very nice 1080 with NO compression.

TRUE broadcast HDTV looks much better than Dish, Direct, Cable, or Uverse.

I watch another television shows on DVD now as it is (HBO, Showtime, etc...) and I don't much care for it. I'm not a big fan of being a year behind on things constantly, so usually, I'll wait until the series has come to an end and watch it all in a few week span. Then I'm even later to the show and left talking about them while it's airing on fucking Nick at Nite or something.

I watch a lot of news as well, so I'm not really sure that the whole no-cable thing is really for someone like me. I've batted the idea around before, but always come back to thinking that I would seriously hate it. Then there's the whole AT&T limits that they impose on you and 1080p programming wouldn't take to long to eclipse the 150GB limit they set...

Dropped it over a year ago and I really don't miss it. I am surprised of some cool stuff I see on the antenna channels.

I didn't have it for several years and didn't miss it. Only got it again when Leah moved in, in 2006.

Yah, I miss it at times. But you actually get used to it and find lot of other ways to occupy time.

Amazing what you can get done when your not parked on the couch so I found.....
Same thing i do. I will also download shows and movies if I really want to watch something but that is rare.
