Don't know if it's your style or not, but i've had good luck/success sending brief thank you notes to the interviewing party the day after. it's a good way to keep your name fresh on their minds.

I think once it gets to a point and you're not one of those "gottahaveit!!!" types, you'll find a plateau on spending and be able to save more. I also believe once i have paid back my student loans and get out of a state taking 9% of my money, i will be in a better place financially.
