That is part of the equation. There have been a few stints of time when I wasn't willing to move out of my immediate area. At one time I had over 75 apps in with various companies all over the nation. Most of the apps I have put in in the last 3 months (90%+) have been in the greater DF/W area

I appreciate it. I am seriously considering paying someone to re-write my resume or hiring a head hunter. In the 6 years since college this has been the only decent opportuniy that I have been able to dig up. I am very obviously doing something wrong.

Just talked with my source inside the company just stopped by the store and had some info for me. I impressed the VP but I didn't floor him. I am not out of the hunt for the job, however they have begun interviewing more applicants. Hopefully they will call me this week and put some kind of end to this. I will be putting in more apps starting tonight. I am not sure how much longer my sanity can survive at $9.50 an hour and the petty problems of my adolescent and tweenybopper work force bring in the front door every day. Open to close and the only manager here all weekend, I may be lucky to have both a job and a full crew by the time it is over

That they do! They are a big company with mom n pop values. They strive to make sure they hire the person they feel fits the company, their needs, and their values

Nothing yet. Followed up via email and got an out of office auto reply. It gave a one week window so I assume he is on vacation this eeek or in an outlying market. Explaining why he said it would be two weeks notice. I am not worried yet, much past next wednesday and I will be concerned. Glad it is taking a little longer as I pissed off my back last Friday doing the brakes on my truck.

Nobody gave me this advice, and after the first year or so, I was broke/playing catch-up on my bills for the next 18 months. Add kids to that and it drug out another year. Thankfully I'm on track now but it wasn't easy...

Keep the beater, and save away for a nice weekend warrior/cruiser/pimp-mobile/luxury car/etc. Build your savings and control impulse purchases, whether $10 or $1,000. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the advice. I made decent money while I was selling cars and lived beyond my means, that bit me in the butt big time. I plan to put a decent amount in savings every check.

As for updates, nothing yet. I thought I was the last of 8 candidates (three in the last round), if not the last, one of the top two. However, the VP said he had 5 more interviews, though he did not disclose whether they were for the same positon or something in one of their other markets. He said it would be no more than 2 weeks before they make an offer or decline

    Correction...yes, Federal. I guess it's obvious I'm not a CPA. LOL!
