Right, and juries are also instructed not to hear something that was stricken from the record. Ever hear of jury nullification?Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostJuries are usually instructed on making a decision not based on personal issues, but on if there is reason to believe that the defendant committed the illegal act.

Not always true sometimes they don't see it, I was pulled over for no seatbelt but I had a 5 point on. Once he saw that I was let go. Just because they think the belt wasnt buckled, doesn't always make it true.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostGuessing speed is not the same as a seat belt. You either had it on or you didn't and the OP has already admitted guilt that he didn't have it on.

I almost positive that you don't have to wear a seat belt while driving along the beach on sand, as long as it isn't a paved public road. However he could claim he followed you, from a paved road, and you didn't have one on then either
I know that you can even get away with letting children ride in the bed of a truck on the beach too.

Everyone should use this as a reminder that it's the end of the month, and LE is out in full force racking up numbers for their "quotas that don't exist." I saw 16 officers writing tickets this morning, in the 13 mile drive to drop my daughter off.

I'd take it to trial. Let them try to convince a jury that more than likely have been popped for the same thing, that you're guilty.

I dunno???Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostHe admitted here, but not necessarily in person. Hard to get a wallet out when you're belted. And is a seat belt required offroad or on a beach?
Maybe this???Originally posted by krazy kris View PostI guess public land=public road for the seat belt?
I've never had the chance to do beach patrol in FTW, so my enforcement on that subject is a little rusty..... My apologies.

Or you would've argued about how you weren't breaking any laws.Originally posted by Jester View Postim surprised also.....but then again, i also ask, why didnt he just say "hey man, it looked like you were speeding thru there so please try and slow down and be safe." or something like that......
that would a been a plain and simple problem solved. I would have said "sorry, no problem, have a good day officer. be safe."

15 mph is dangerous when you're driving a 1 ton vehicle on a public beach.
not to mention he has probably been dealing with the rest of those 400+ dumbasses all weekend as well.

lol, im not dwelling on that goofy ass ticket....just talkin.Originally posted by Chili View PostDefine "they".. I have never contemplated killing a cop because I got a ticket. Hell, even if I got a ticket I don't feel I deserve. If anything I consider it Karma for the million other times I have overtly broken the law.
Either fight it or pay it, but either way, dwelling on something so silly is unhealthy.
trust me, if it is less than $100.....paid. more than that and im going to court
