I drove a rental Titan somewhere around 07, while my truck was getting fixed, and I wasn't very impressed with the quality. It was a rental, but it only had 1500 miles or so...if they've stepped up the quality, I'd consider it (with the diesel, of course).

I could have sworn that Nissan killed off the Titan a year or two ago. Is there a production gap?

I actually got 18.6mpg out of my 08 crew cab but that was with mods and a tune. Man, I really miss that truck. Too bad it took this long for Nissan to offer another engine option.

agreed, I have no issue with the power numbers vs mpg

With one exception, It *should* do everything I need to do. I wont be able to pull the big work-n-play to the race track, but that isnt really a problem. If they will make a crew cab long bed, it should be fine for pulling my camper or flatbed car hauler around.

The Cummins average fuel economy target for this new diesel engine is 28 mpg while meeting tough U.S. Tier 2 Bin 2 emissions limits, according to the presentation.

The engine has a 2.8-liter displacement (170 cubic inches). Initial power figures on the engine dyno have the mule test engine producing 350 pounds-feet of torque at around 1,800 rpm. A chart in the presentation shows targeted power levels to be approximately 220 horsepower and 380 pounds-feet.

The engine is a derivative of the four-cylinder ISF architecture that Cummins builds overseas, with 2.8-liter and 3.8-liter displacements, according to a Cummins spokesman. The overseas 3.8-liter is rated at 168 horsepower and 443 pounds-feet of torque.

I was always assuming it would be the V8, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

This was obviously made by someone in CMI (standard ppt coloring, etc), but its out on the web so no harm in posting it. The left side is probably what they'll announce:

Might be built overseas but that's some solid tq/mpg info if it's still holding true.

Over 50% of Cummins' interests are held overseas. Huge here, huger over there.

Depends on which engine it is.

I can tell you that the 5.0 V8 would be built in Columbus, IN. The 4 cyl ISF (2.8 or 3.8) would be China built.
