Amen! Btw, I hand calculated 20.03mpg on my last tank. Not bad for a big ol heavy ford!

I have always wondered why they always pushed more HP instead of more MPG every damn year. My 02 7.3 gets almost as good of gas mileage as most full size trucks now days and will pull anything you put behind it. If I wanted fast I would buy a sports car. Depending on price I may eyeball one of these.

Let me try to make up for it:

Engines for the commercial market (read: things other than Nissan) will begin shipping out of CEP by Q4 2014.

Maybe I missed it buried in the fine print....but where are the REAL WORLD MPG estimates for the 5.0 turbo diesel? They were quick to throw the 300+hp and 500+lb-ft torque rating up.....but I didn't see anything stating MPG. The last Titan I drove sucked gas down like a top fuel dragster and had been into service multiple times for electrical problems. They need to get their quality up on this truck and post realistic mileage numbers before I would look at it seriously.

I'm reading over the internal briefing on the project right now. It's pretty cool, but anything not stated in that release above has to wait until Oct when more details will be announced. Long story short, I think this is a good thing.

There will be a commercial version of this engine also.

I like that new Cat! Best restyle since the ~1997 Kenworth IMO.
