We are thinking about dropping the TV part of our tv/internet package, since we dont use it much at all. Netflix,dvd's and a googlecast has taken over.

With the olympics coming up, I was thinking it might be difficult to watch that, but I think it is on network that we can pick up with an antenna, right?

Anyone cut the cable and miss it?

Olympics should be broadcasted on NBC online.

yeah its pretty common now since everyone is going to subscription based streaming. I know with Uverse i had a 250GB cap

I still pay Time Warner cable/internet but it just goes to show that they are going to screw us over one way or another. I've been tempted to cut cable TV but I don't think I can give up The Walking Dead.

Uverse and I watch the shit out of local and pay channel.. DVR everything and only watch ball games live.

Pay for it but oh well, enjoy it.

I have uverse. The bill burns me and I'm paying ~115/month. TV is roughly $45 of that, so it hasn't reached the point of not being worth it.

Flip side, I did start getting messages from AT&T (my DSL) that I was hitting max downloads on my data plan. Didn't even know I had a maximum on DSL. Apparently 150 gb is my max and if I go over it this next month, they'll charge me $10 for every 50 gb I go over. Haven't bothered to look to see if that's new or common yet.

Uverse is 250 gigs.

I have dish net. I renegotiated our bill now I have 2 DVR's, 2 regular boxes, and their top 200 with the sports package for $80. I was previously paying $140.

We stopped paying for overpriced TV 2 years ago and haven't missed it at all.

We have high speed internet with Netflix and Hulu plus, which covers 98% of what we watch.

If something is on network TV that we can't miss (Sports usually) we use a 4 foot antenna that I set up in the attic that gets an awesome HD signal.

For stuff like Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones.... There are HD copies of the episodes on the interwebz available the next day after broadcast if you know where to look.

So we are sometimes one day behind, but we NEVER pay a cable TV\satellite bill.

Not as long as you have an HD ready TV..... which is all of them sold within the past 5-6 years or so.

DirecTV here, I only have basic and sports, HD pkg, TiVo with 1 genie and two Jmb's, my bill is only $109.00
