sounds like my setup. but Im not for sure about my channels. I think I had one package smaller. my bill is $85 after tax.

I dont ever see me getting rid of it.

Too funny! Looks like there are several board members around that intersection now.

OTA for a few years now. I missed Discovery and TLC, but seems like it's all reality show crap now anyway. Pretty much everything I want to watch now is online. Worst case, I have to wait a week for some shows. Just recently got Amazon Prime, but haven't really gotten into it too much yet, other than seeing some movies.

                  Cable One internet + VOIP phone for $85. 50Mb down, 3Mb up. 300GB limit/mth.

Converter box for older non-digital recv. turners...yes. There is no such thing as an HD antenna. That's a marketing scam. Older antennas and rabbit ears work the same as so called HD antennas.I just put an antenna in the attic and pull 70 local channels. Before I just had a little indoor antenna that only pulled 30 channels. Still have cable, but getting ready to axe it.

True,so-called HD antennas should more correctly be called "amplified antennas" in most cases.

I didn't have a problem with my FIOS bundle before I picked up a Roku 3. The amount of streaming content you have at your fingertips is ridiculous with 150,000+ movies and TV shows. I will be cutting the cable once my contract is up. Complete waste of money.

Screw TV. The few shows I like can wait until they are on the interwebs. If I watch more than 30 seconds of a "reality" show, I feel like my life is flying out the window, and my brain cell count is lowering rapidly.

I do not have it, and I plan to keep it that way. Anyone and everyone who has rid of cable/dish/any TV provider has never been happier with their decision.

I live out in the sticks so my only options are Dish or Direct. I just downgraded Dish early last year to the "Welcome package". The only thing I can say I miss is the DVR. Although, I have to admit that since it's been cold out, I've been watching more TV wishing I had a few more channels. But I don't miss paying $100/m, my bill is now $21.94. Fair enough.

I wish some company would come out with an a la carte package. Let me pick the channels I want, screw your other 800 channels I don't need and only pay for what I watch. I'd switch in a heartbeat

exactly! on the rare occasion that Jr doesnt have soccer or jiu jitsu and we have a chance to relax i dont know what i would do if i didnt have 1000 channels to surf through all the while only being able to find nothing i "want" to watch, merely only what will not drive me crazy. we have fios with a million channels, netflix, and apple tv. 99% of the time i'll just go outside

                                god bless.
