Finally was able to get ahold of customer service after 31 minutes. Locked in about 37% and got a few free trades in the future. It's all good.

Well KBIO is up ~40% this morning but Scottrade is down so I can't sell my position and lock in my profit..

Email customer service to document it - I'd be fuming.

That is what I figured but I wanted to ask someone that has the trading knowledge, to see if it was something that was suggesting a large price spike. Thanks

I did take a very small position in it today to see if spikes again in the next week or so. Basically just took some profit from my Icpt trades and used it to play. Playing with the houses money on this one.

In Kbio talk and someone posted that there will be a margin call at 2pm. Does that mean they think the price is going to swing one direction or the other at that time? Or is that just when they think the brokers will want people to cover their shorts?

That's an incredibly vague statement - like "buy low sell high" or "be greedy when others are fearful".

Without seeing the whole thread I have no idea what they mean. It could be someone posting as if they know something regarding a meaningful price move one way or the other Monday afternoon (a statement to which I'd place zero weight).

The time for covering shorts has already passed, what short position isn't in a very very large loss by now? The brokers/clearing firms don't just wait around til the due date of a call to liquidate. Just like this guy said in the article, that firm blew him out when he was negative.

Any margin calls outstanding due in t+3 would be Monday afternoon ... my guess is that's what they mean. Like I said, the clearing firms and risk managers don't just sit around and let negative accounts go more negative waiting on the 3 days. They liquidate them as needed, or as fast as they can. Without seeing more of the thread, I'd place zero value on that post.
