I used to work with the guy who ordered that car. He used to street race his white '88 LX 5.0 coupe on Midway Rd. waaaaay back in the day. He sold that car and ordered this '90 LX. His sole purpose for ordering this car was for drag racing only in what was then called the Trophy Stock class. Hence, only the minor modifications.
He had to wait an additional few weeks to get the car because Ford had never built such a stripped down Mustang before to the point that they (Ford) were waiting on a steering wheel that didnt have the cruise contol buttons.
He never intended to drive this car on the street and it appears that he held true to his word.

Interesting. I had an ex trophy stock car back in the day after the owner got loose on the track and smacked the wall.Originally posted by zipnz View PostI used to work with the guy who ordered that car. I was there for that one, I believe at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis during FFW in the late 90's or maybe 2000. Blew the lower radiator hose, got loose, and then hit the black LX in the door in the other lane. I too had a Trophy Stock prepared car, and when that class got out of control, I raced the new class that required radials and was real restrictive on the mods. Street Stock or some crap, can't remember, it's been too long.Originally posted by jetboat View PostThat would be Larry Felts out of Houston and not this guy that I know from Frisco
