    says the guy without children.

You are making broad statements with a lot of assumptions you have no idea about. Children arent an investment, and there is no price tag associated that you can compare it to. It's pretty damn awesome to have and raise children, and the money that it takes is inconsequential.

Looking at having a child through the lens of a financial decision would leave one with the realization that children are a very poor investment. Emotionally, sure, you may find a lot of value in that but the fact remains that you're spending money on a child that you're never going to get back, thus making it a poor financial decision.

She covers the cost of one... but not both. However, she likes her job and would go nuts staying with the kids all day every day so it's worth it to me. I make more than enough to cover up the losses so if she's happy and the kids are learning, making friends, and having fun then to me it's worth it.

BUT, I do have a special bottle of wine saved away for the day I write my last day care check.

Yeah, kids are a bigger money pit than any car/boat/hobby I have or had in the past.

Day care, yeah - we figured out real quick that my wife was going to stay at home. This year she even took on mowing the lawn - so that frees up more fishing time.

Wealth? haha, but I usually have a good time on the weekends.

That's no lie, which is why gold and silver are a good part of the portfolio.

No shit. Part of me hoped I would fail to save the money. I didn't, so now I'm banking on a bailout.
