He had a press conference right after the grand jury press conference.

I'll have to check that out. Technically they usually aren't covered under the policy, but for instance during the Rodney King riots, all that stuff generally ended up being covered.

During his statements urging for calm in Ferguson, President Barack Obama also suggested that, in the coming days, the media focus on positive solutions to the civil rights issues that erupted in the aftermath of Michael Brown's death at the hands of Officer Darren Wilson. "There is inevitably going to be some negative reaction, and it will make for good TV," he noted.

And the question of the night, from Ta-Nehisi Coates:

Oh this image. Good God. Can the White House people see this?

                      • Civil rights issues? How about the death of one black teen overshadowing every other black teen murder? Oh, that's right, because he was killed by a white cop. Fucking idiots. That's not a civil rights issue, that's irresponsible black culture issue. Try investigating black on black crime in that neighborhood; no witnesses and no one with info unless they're paid.

They burned their hood because they have no idea what it takes to progress, nor what responsible behavior looks like. They were never taught and will always be victims.

This is the account just before Officer Wilson was involved with Brown. Seems to be a trend in this hood.

Approximately 90 minutes before fatally shooting unarmed teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, Officer Darren Wilson was at a nearby apartment complex responding to a call from a woman claiming a man threatened to shoot her. When the suspect left the area and the victim declined to file charges, (imagine that??) Wilson then responded to a call about a sick baby who was struggling to breathe.

I don't think the guy is a hero. On the contrary, I think he's an asshole that had a cop-god-complex. I'm not saying the shooting was in the wrong, or that Brown didn't earn his death, but to paint Wilson as a hero is bullshit.
