I agree with you. Agencies need to be pulled back in.Originally posted by Gasser64 View Postif the big 3 said fuck ya, we just wont sell in greenpeace land anymore, theyd change their tune real quick
ford has been beating GM's ass for the better part of a decade lol. Gm would sooner go out of business due to financial troubles

I'm sure you will still be able to buy an alternative fuel like 100% ethanol or even E85. Older cars like your 57 Chevy would need a conversion kit but it would be doable. Heck, now that I think of it, a Natural Gas or methane conversion would be even more doable for very old cars. You wouldn't get the power of gasoline but perhaps the real concern should be to just keep these old cars around. Besides, their will be hella fast electric cars to satisfy a need for speed.Originally posted by BLAKE View PostWhile you may be right, I'd like to think that there will always be a niche market for new gas powered vehicles.
At the very least, there will be a couple of decades worth of support for what's on the road now. I shudder to think there will ever be an America where all 57 Chevy's (or whatever, pick your favorite classic car) are boat anchors because you can't get a gallon of gas.

going to v6 also helps avoid some European and Asian import issues.

3.5L Ecoboost - 365 hp @ 5,000 rpm - 420 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpmOriginally posted by Rreemo View PostMine pulls a 22' enclosed Haulmark and an 18' open car trailer regularly (did ~500 miles with a 55' Chevy just last weekend, through some pretty shitty weather). I have zero complaints with either one. Matter of fact, I would go as far as to say that I think it actually tows better than some of the older 3/4 ton trucks I've had in the past.
6.5L Turbo Diesel - 215 hp @ 3,200 rpm - 440 lb-ft. @ 1,800 rpm
So yeah, that dinky little 3.5L has a ton more HP and slightly less peak torque than my 3/4 ton diesel chevy. Don't think towing is going to be an issue.

Mine is a 14 as well and I got right at 17 when I first got it was driving a bunch of highway miles. 16.5 until the winter blend gas then dropped to 16.3.Originally posted by dblack1 View PostMy 14 broke 18mpg one time in the last 15k miles. In order to believe this you have to believe that a V6 powered F150 can compete with the LT1 engine Chevy Silverado. To me that just isn't happening.
