The discussion was v6 engines, not all 6 cylinder engines. The flat 6 sounds amazing as well, but neither will ever be in a Ford.

I had the non ecoboost V6 F150 and it was fine to drive, but as soon as you hooked a trailer up it was a gutless wonder. Gas mileage on the 2wd was 1mpg better than my new 5.0 4x4. No savings in the N/A versions, but towing is night and day different. Towing got horrible gas mileage in the 3.7 V6.

Granted though, those 3.8 sixers were push-rod engines without much HP. Agree though that there's nothing like the sound of a V8, especially a 4-V V8.

I don't believe this for a second. You think GM is going to phase out the small-block and Ford won't have any V8 trucks? There will always be a place for 8 cylinder engines, at least until the world is all electric motors.
