Shit like this would not happen nearly as often if the immediate family members of the criminal also received punishment for the crime.

I often thought that the victim's family should get to choose the punishment as well.

i.e. someone rapes and murders someones daughter, dude may get life by some judge's choice. The Father may want him to hang though. Maybe judge chooses minimum punishment and the family can make it more severe or agree with the minimum.

Why waste tax payer dollars on a costly trial, and keeping him in prison? There is no doubt he committed the act, obviously. Had LE gone ahead and finished the job, I wouldn't complain. Especially now that he's in critical condition. Between hospital bills, trial, and food, cost to keep him alive just to serve a life sentence would be >$1,000,000.

Because it is vengeance that can not be obtained in any other way under our laws. Give him a taste of hell on earth before he gets to actual hell.

I've been watching the WDBJ7 live news feed. They said he made a complaint to the EEOC citing racism. They investigated. His claims were baseless and they dismissed the complaint. This dude was mentally ill and projected his anger onto people he merely imagined he had problems with. It sounds like somewhere along the line he was told he wasn't a very good journalist and it was down hill from there. Sad story, in regards to the victims.

Think about it from the Adam(the camera man's) perspective...as he filed a complaint with HR on the shooter previously and Alison(the reporter) having an EEOC complaint filed on her from the shooter.
