I can agree with both sides of the story when you look at it from their point of view. Chris had no emotional attachment to the site, for him it was a burden of additional work. His life is changing with family (perfectly understandable there) and has to do what needs to be done.

It just seems that it comes down to money which is lame.

Where did Jose pay into the old site if he didnt how is he owed anything.

wether or not jose provided any financial support for the site, he was the other half of the "leadership" of the site.

Like it was stated, he was the face of the site and chris was the admin/behind the scenes guy. Without jose and his work on the site, it wouldn't have grown as much as it did, nor would it have been worth as much as it was.

Same goes for all the members that actually made up the site. The site without it's membership is worth just the $ it costs for the hardware that runs the site. We all had a "stake" in the site, and we all "owned" it because it was due to our contributions that the site was actually worth anything.

Leaving Jose out, and all the other members out was just plain wrong, and the reactions that came about are justified and expected. If Chris had been more involved he would have known that what he was about to do would be accepted and there would be alot of bitterness. IMO it seems that Chris was selfish in thinking of his own interests over the interest and opinion of the rest of the board. As I stated earlier, if he had made a thread listing his issues, his lack of time / energy to mess with the site, and his wanting to spend more time with his family, everyone would have understood and wished him well... and allowing the members to be in on the options available and giving them a voice in the decisions that would be made for the future of the board would have eliminated 90% of the problems.

Live and learn I guess... hindsight is 20/20 and Chris ruined a great site and many friendships.
