Think of it this way-
Jimmie Johnson is the face of Lowes on the NASCAR track, but ill be damned if he has any say in what goes on in the Lowes corporation... and Lowes could sell the team and kick ole' Jimmie the fuck out if they damn well pleased.
If what Chris said is true, then it was his site. The man who pays for everything and maintains it all has more of a leg to stand on (from a legal standpoint) than a guy with no formal contract regarding initial ownership or responsibilities.
I feel for Jose, but I have never met him (or Chris) so I feel that I am relatively neutral in this whole matter. I apologize if my post comes off as displeasing or rude.
Not really a good analogy, IMO. A local car forum is made up of people(usually car enthusiasts in form or another) that make it go round and round. Those members are why advertisers pay to advertise on a forum and thus makes the forum some money. Without said members advertisers would not want to waste money and be a part of something not worth their while hence that website would not be worth diddly squat if it not for the hard work on someone being the "face" of DFWS to attract and keep people interested and continuing to go to that site.

It's done and over with. Bickering over it isn't going to change anything. Now we just wait to see what happens.

So does everyone believe Jose would have ponied up $15-20k for the site? I dont know Jose like that so I dont know if that is a drop in the bucket for him or not. Truely sounds like autoguide sent Chris an offer and this was something lingering in the back of his mind for some time and took it on a spur of the moment decision.
There is talk about trying to arrange a meeting with Jose but no idea if it was before, during or after. Im willing to bet it was after and Jose was already pissed about it though.

If the right thing was going to happen, it already would have.
I still do not see the point in making a new forum.
To go a step further, what would be your reaction if the tables would have been turned and Jose had agreed to sell it without letting Chris know anything in advance? Not saying Jose would ever do something like that, just a scenario.

When I joined the first time back in 02 my old screen name was 94gtvert or 94gtconv I can't remember, everything was cool. I lurked for a long time, went to the greenville sonic gtg's a few times, was at ffw a couple times and everyone was cool. Sold the stang, dropped out of the scene, then got back in around summer 2007. Everything was the same after being gone for probably 4 years. A few new faces, but the same attitude that made it great. That place has no heart. This place is it now. Don't plan on going back to Ricekiller/dfws anymore, they can have it.
