According to both of them he reached out to Jose and Jose turned him down. Of course I dont know, but whats to say he didnt offer? Like Ive said many times, a bit of advance warning to at least Jose would have been cool but I can see both sides.Originally posted by 46Tbird View PostLike I said, if Chris would cut Jose a check for even something like 10% of dfwstangs sell price, then I think this whole thing would be cool. Leaving him out in the cold as if he was just some other chump on the site is inexcusable IMO. Of course my opinion is worth exactly what yours is...

Who owned the "title" then?Originally posted by Skidmark View PostWell, i'm sure this site would have been made and we'd all be over here pissed off because a shitty company bought the old site.
I'd probably also be giving Chris some numbers of lawyers to call since the site was sold by someone who doesn't own the "title".

I think that jose at the least got screwed out of some cash. He certainly had no warning or input into the sale process, and had no possibility to acquire ownership. Chris might not think so, but jose WAS the face of management at dfwstangs events and GTGs. I'd always see him at MMCM events and at the cruises, and he was known to make quite a few bar GTGs.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostYou're certainly right until this part. Sure, he fucked some people over, but what does that matter at this point? Those people have been offered the EXACT same positions over here with essentially the same community. Nothing has to change at all, but egos are bruised and so we have what's going on now.
Hell, I'd be willing to be that the individual that was screwed in the deal on the old site could probably stand to gain creative and authoritative control over what they previously had.
I think the membership got sold out due to the nature of the deal. I mean, really, canadians? The site IS the membership.

Chris chose one of the wrong ways, but that way happened to maximize what he got out of the sale. The problem is that by doing it that way he fucked jose and the entire membership.
I guess that money is more valuable to chris than old friendships. I never figured chris to be a sell out kind of guy.

If it's the well being of my family versus the business or my job, then yes I would take the interest of my family above all that. But there is still a correct way of doing things... Chris just handled the situation badly.Originally posted by Nate View PostI will do what's best for me and my family over some people I kill time with in a website. Would he have lost some money notifying Jose and the membership? Possibly, but it is still the right thing to do. Money is not the be all end all, and I'm sure his family would not find itself starving if he had lost a few bucks on the sale.

I've been around for it all as well and the last time i saw Chris was late 2004 when he came by my dads shop for an A/C compressor for his coupe. before that back in the late 90s early 2000's he was around more.Originally posted by Silverback View PostTrue, I've been around since the very begining and I can count on one hand the number of times I've met or talked to chris
