I'd run it as it helps circulate crank case pressure. Only time I ever saw it blocked off is on FI set ups.Originally posted by 91CoupeMike View PostCurrent set up.
90mm lightning mass air. Just ordered.
4 inch Anderson power pipe, will be picking it up this week.
70mm accufab race TB ordering today.
24# injectors.
Still looking for an intake manifold.
What signicance does the vacuum tube on the a TB serve? It just vents to the valve cover right?

It's part of the crankcase ventilation, allowing in fresh meter air. Without proper crankcase ventilation you can easily start blowing oil by the seals.Originally posted by 91CoupeMike View PostCurrent set up.

I think it will perform well. 218/228 .542/542 112 LSA. Emissions shouldn't be a concern when the car has no cats and most of Anderson's cams are not emissions passing cams.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View PostAnd that cam is fairly mild, it would probably pass emissions too.

That's not the correct way to do it. The system is meant to be sealed, and by having the tube running from the throttle body to the valve cover keeps it sealed. Some guys run the tube from the valve cover to the intake tube (after the meter) in cases where they're modifying as you are. A good CAI will have a boss on it so you can tap it for items like this vent.Originally posted by 91CoupeMike View PostI'll run a breather filter if that's the case.

Hmmm, well I just figured that adding the additional fuel in the tune and keeping the stock fp was far better than asking an injector meant to flow at 39 PSI to bump up to 70+#'s. I have the knowledge to do it the right way. The way I do it is the right way. I know guys that make 400+hp on 19# injectors and a 12:1 FMU, but that certianly doesn't make it the right way.Originally posted by Lone Sailor View PostI hate to burst your bubble, but I sprayed a 175 dry shot for years on 19's(as have many others). You don't always need bigger, sometimes you just need better knowledge of how it all works.

I thought of that after I posted, will probably be what I do.Originally posted by Lone Sailor View PostThat's not the correct way to do it. The only place we disagree is that you seem to think bigger is better lolOriginally posted by Diabolic View PostHmmm, well I just figured that adding the additional fuel in the tune and keeping the stock fp was far better than asking an injector meant to flow at 39 PSI to bump up to 70+#'s. What about the exhaust? With that great intake tract I would def look for some 1-3/4 Longtubes, and a 3" exhaust. You really can't go wrong with a Systemax, or RPM II intake. I would even look for a used TMoss ported RPM. I had him port my RPM II and he did a fantastic job.Originally posted by 91CoupeMike View PostCurrent set up.

1 5/8 is what I already have and I'll stick with that for now. I'll be running spintechs too, 2.5 inch pipe.Originally posted by Diabolic View PostWhat about the exhaust? I use to think that small parts make great tq. I've built several combos that way. I had tried bigger parts in the past only to be dissapointed. The problem was always in the tune, or lack there of. Trying to use "calibrated" MAF meters, advancing the timing with the dizzy, bumping the fp with a regulator, etc......... My personal daily driver is a 10.5:1 331 with cleaned up Vic Jr heads, 240 duration camshaft, .570 lift, Ported RPM II, 75mm tb, 90mm MAF meter, and 42# injectors. I swear to god it drives perfect. No surging, no stalling when using the power steering at low engine RPM, no bucking even in 4th at 1500 RPM. I shift at 6500 RPM without any issues of durability. I just took a roadtrip and got 25mpg hwy. I drive 500+ miles every single week in the car. It runs very, very strong. I'm not reccomending anything I don't have myself.Originally posted by FoxBodyNick View PostThe only place we disagree is that you seem to think bigger is better lol
