There is no covenant in the bible that can remain a covenant for anyone living. A covenant is a contract, and a core requirement for contract formation is consent. I have not given anyone consent to subject me to cosmic consequences, including any god, so I am not subject to covenants that god made with anyone else. I also have never given my proxy to anyone to negotiate my cosmic fate. I am not party to a covenant with any god, so I am exempt from any consequences of it, presuming it's even true in the first place.
FWIW, I would love for things to be so simple, that all I had to do was say, "this life isn't the important one. The next one will be way better and eternal if I just believe this one thing." That would be amazing.

It doesnt matter if any other religion has been guilty in the past. What matter is the present and future. detracting from the present with data from the past does no good but to divert attention.
We need to fix what is wrong Now, and prevent it from getting widespread in the future. you cant do that without acknowledging the true problem.

The Bible, not unlike lincolnboys' posts, was produced by a semi-primitive human brain and should not be interpreted literally.

No, what you believe is ridiculous. I mean for real dude, do you seriously buy that shit?Originally posted by Denny View PostThe covenant He had with Adam, Noah and Moses all required man having to either meet requirements, obey, perform works, etc. He did this to show that we cannot control our way to Salvation. Only Jesus could take on that task. All we have to do is accept that He stood in our place. It's a gift. Deserved? Nope. Earned? Nope. Just a gift from His undying love.
To think that we have a snowball's chance (pun intended) of Salvation through anything that we can do is not only blasphemy, but ridiculous to boot.
The belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
Makes sense!!!

Yeah but that's wrong though. And what is a surf?Originally posted by Baba Ganoush View PostWithout god fearing men fighting and dying for their beliefs, regardless of religious affiliation, you would be an ump-teenth generation surf with zero rights and no voice.
Hate religion all you want but it's responsible for your current status as a free, un-oppressed hypocrite.

The New Testament doesn't provide a shred of evidence for killing a non-believer, just because they are a non-believer. Christians are followers of Jesus and his teachings, the New Testament.

We all get it, you don't like religion for whatever reason. Or Jews either. No reason to come up with outlandish shit like the idea that Christians are just as bad as Islamic radicals.
And I dislike all religious people equally. Jews, Muslims, Christians, whatever.
