Like it or not, the style of the Camaro pops much more than the Mustang and people put a high priority on style when buying cars like the Mustang or Camaro. Until Ford totally redesigns the Mustang, the Camaro will continue to outsell it. Performance doesn't matter to the majority of car buyers (at least minor variances in performance). The SS is fast enough for 98% of Camaro buyers. The 2% where it isn't will buy the slightly faster 5.0 or the GT500 or ZL1.

I don't mudsling, I just report facts and my observations. You were wrong to imply the Corvette is not a money maker and I called you out on it. It's that simple. I do agree with your implied assertion that Ford would have a very hard time breaking into the Corvette market with an all new model because it just doesn't have the history or heritage the Corvette has built over the last 60 years. To that end, it probably would be unprofitable for Ford, but that doesn't mean it's not profitable for GM to continue to make the Corvette. If it wasn't, GM wouldn't make them anymore.
I admitted I was incorrect in my information and I apologize for it.

I never said the Corvette didn't make money, in fact I said that Corvette has dominated that corner of the market. Chevy sold a little over 13,000 units with the Corvette last year with Porsche in a distant second place selling over 6,000 units. While Corvette dominates that market, it's a very small market and wouldn't make sense for Ford to R&D a new car to compete with.

Most Vette guys would rather be mid-life crisis douchebags than minimum wage, max debt high school drop-outs buying Mustangs to try to make themselves feel a little bit better about their crappy lives.

    Stereotypes are fun, huh?
im willing to bet 95% of the people preaching about how much better the GT500 is couldnt afford one

It's not stereotype when it's the truth. Most guys I've met who drives vettes are douchebags who thinks they are higher up then the avg joe cause they drive a vette. And I'm far from the stereotype you have on mustang owners. The only cool vette drivers I've met are the ones that driver the olders 50-60's vettes. Anything later then that have been douchebags and you are really proving my point.

And you might haven't brought up the comparison but you are carrying it on.

I don't need your dollar, chief. My comparisons are only in response to the other horrible comparisons being made in this thread.

I'm glad you are blindly brand loyal to Ford. I was only reporting facts on sales figures. I didn't say I PERSONALLY agreed with them, they are just facts. Camaro is outselling the Mustang. Period, end of story.

lol.. you realise if anything.. a 70k GT500 is WAY more of a Boy racer turned mid lift chrisis Douche than a vette.. considering you can get into a base c6 coupe for 43ish K brand new.. ..just sayin...

Since you are comparing a "modded" KB 5.0 mustang to a Stock vette.. i will compare my modded vette to a Stock mustang
i have bout 60k in my 2008 C6 ( i bought it 1 year old) .. Granted.. its built for Mile style events or air strip runs..

i want to see a stock 2013 GT 500.. or FGT stay with me

the whole point of this argument seemed to be STOCK VS STOCK.. because otherwise everyone in this thread with anything but an 88 Fox coupe is an idiot for spending Soooooo much money on a car that you could make a fox coupe beat for 1/20th the price

But I understand you own a vette so you're one of those vette douchebag guys and since ford is came out with the GT500 all you vette owners have been bitching pissing moaning that you waste your money on a slow ass car.

Ruh Roh. I didn't mean to hit your sensitive happy place. So, I guess you think you can get Mustangs at big discounts, but the ZR1 still sells at sticker? Well, you're wrong.

Mustang owners have at least as many stereotypes as Corvette owners, so I won't go there because it's childish and mostly wrong.

I'm so sad I got a Corvette when I could have waited for the new wundercar from Ford. Yes, that is why I lurk here. I'm trying to justify my poor purchase decisions.

After some quick looking, I was incorrect in my information. Camaro is slightly outselling Mustang by a 3% margin. It seems the new design being announced slowed Mustang sales for so many waiting for the 2013 redesign.

I'm sure a free 5.0 with KB blower and $10k worth of suspension will hold up great to a sustained road course session against a bone stock ZR1.

Those ZR1 owners are such idiots when they could have saved $100k getting a 5.0 with some mods that could outperform it. I wonder where those idiots got the money to buy a ZR1 in the first place. I'll go over to corvetteforum and try to find out and report back.
