Also, returning this, whats the best way of clearing everything out of it?
There should either be a disk, or a partition on the computer that will basically restore it to the way it came from the factory. Basically a procedure you run through that will wipe the hard drive and put it back to new. I would recommend you save any documents and videos you created before you wipe it clean. Also, don't forget you only have 15 days to return it, so don't wait too long.

The 1gb of RAM is for the dedicated video card (ATI Radeon). System RAM it has 4gb (upgradeable to 8GB), same size Hard drive as you have, larger screen, better processor, DVD burner, better webcam, same OS. Overall it's a better computer, but for video editing the fact that it has a better processor and a dedictated video card will make it much faster and should play 1080p videos without any issues. I would still upgrade the RAM to 8GB, but its not as big a deal due to the better processor and video card.

I'd take it back to Walmart and spend just a little more on that Acer. You're getting way more computer for the money.

FYI, this laptop for $500 (same manufacturer) will do the job better than the one you purchased, has a faster processor, larger display, and a dedicated video card with 1GB of RAM.

Did you buy it at Walmart (search on that model # made it seem as it was specifically made for Walrmart)? If so, they have a 15 day return policy on Computers and Comptuer Hardware:

•Computers & Computer Hardware: Must be returned within 15 days of receipt.

Unless you want to return your laptop, and get a higher model / better processor, you will have to live with the compromise.

While "budget" laptops are great, they do tend to sacrifice performance and graphic capabilites to get you that low price. If it's something you can live with, then great, but if it's something you use for work or a full time hobby... then you might want to consider getting something a little more robust.

It's going to come down to what your connection can stream if streaming and what your graphics card can handle. If you take 2 systems nearly identical except for the fact that 1 system is running integrated graphics while the other is running a dedicated card and you watch a movie/video in HD, the machine with the dedicated card is going to run it much better and more efficiently than the system with the integrated graphics. If your graphics cards didn't matter then we'd all be running integrated graphics and we know that's not the case.
