Just depends on what interests you more. You can't go wrong with either of those.
If I were you I'd go with the 15" laptop, the 17" laptops are huge, not very mobile, and weigh a ton. On top of that it's difficult to find laptop cases or backpacks that can fit one.

Sum it up basically to say you can get a HELL of a lot more laptop for $500 bucks than what you picked up at Wal-Mart. Restore the drive with the built in recovery partition and take it back. Wal-Mart is the absolute LAST place on earth I would go to buy a GOOD laptop. My FIRST place (locally) would be Microcenter, followed by Frys, then on to the only remaining big box retailer Best Buy. I would look on the internet for specials from TigerDirect/CompUSA.
Hell I'd buy a used laptop on Craigslist before I'd go to Walmart. Don't mean to offend....but Walmart carries the absolute most bottom of the line, most cheaply made electronics that can be sourced from the cheapest vendors they can find...so they can mark it up and make HUGE profits.

That hasn't been available for months. It's twice the computer that you posted before, because the video card has dedicated memory, not VRAM. They've just been lazy and haven taken it off the website.

They call it a Multi-touch, I had to sacrifice 1080p, but 900p is enough and I can finger fuck the screen...

Shit, I didn't realize it had a touch screen option.
